Become a Volunteer
We rely on a strong team of Volunteers to support all activities and events, from launching and recovering the boats at the beginning and end of the day, to driving the Rescue boat and making the cups of tea and coffee that keep any club going. We believe that our Volunteers should have as much fun as our members.
Northampton Sailability is an RYA Training Centre, able to train our Volunteers on Dinghy, Keelboat and Powerboat courses to enable us to provide safe sailing for our Members.
The range of Volunteer roles available includes
- Administration
- Fundraising
- On shore support
- Helming and Crewing
- Sailing Instruction to help our Members achieve RYA Sailability Awards and Qualifications
- Boat Maintenance
No previous experience is necessary, and joining as a Volunteer will give you full access to all training and events.
All Volunteers are trained in Manual Handling and Disability Awareness.
All Instructors, and most Volunteers, are also RYA First Aid trained and DBS checked.
